Description: Turn key expansion of ductile iron foundry to 15 ton/hr capacity. EC&S coordinated with the plant so that current production was maintained until 2 months before start-up. The new installation consisted of a Disamatic Mark V molding machine and a Hunter molding machine, along with a complete new 120 ton/hr sand system and 2 new electric induction melters. The existing Disamatic Mark I molding machine and 2 electric induction melters were relocated so that they were incorporated into the system.

Contract: Complete system design - construct contract with equipment specification and procurement.

Schedule: 12 months to start-up.

Summary: Engineering and equipment procurement was done in 6 months. Construction started with foundations in month 5. Equipment deliveries followed thru month 10 and coincided with mechanical erection and electrical installation. Plant start-up was at month 12.
